Called Pampered Chef to ask about the metal flaking off my garlic press and was told that because it is older than 3 years, they will not replace it. The consultant indicated that I should be concerned that the metal was flaking off, but that it is only guaranteed for 3 years.

If I want to buy a new one that would be great. Apparently they don't stand behind their products and don't guarantee that they products are safe to use.

The press is made in Taiwan. This product should be recalled and replaced with a safer product.

It is great that you don't have to peel the garlic to use the press, but I don't want to eat the garlic press, just the garlic.

Monetary Loss: $30.

Iโ€™m having same problem and I thought it was life time guaranteeโ€ฆ

Mine is not only flaking but it is leaving dark spots on my garlic. When I first saw it I thought the garlic had gone bad but then I figured out the press was leaving the dark color. I read in this forum that if its older than 3 years they dont want to hear about...so I have to find a new one someplace else...any ideas where??

I love this garlic press, have three of them, one for each house. I have tried others and spent almost as much for one as the Pampered Chef press and they were all a waste of money.

Nothing compares to this garlic press. One of mine does have a small spot where the coating has worn away, but it does not effect the usability.

It isn't safe if it is leaching onto the garlic and into your food

Yes I am having the same problem!! Concerned it may be aluminum seeping into my meals.

I have been very happy with Pampered Chef but this definitely a faulty product. Frustrated!

My garlic press is doing the same thing, too bad they don't stand by their products.

All the paint has come off mine and now when I touch it makes my hand black. It actually makes the first 1/3 of the squeezed garlic dark grey.

I am especially peed off because it cost a ridiculous amount of money for a garlic press.

I am going to call them and I am determined to come away with a new garlic press!!!! Let's see how I get on!!!!

Please do let us know. They obviously know this is a flawed product and just dont care. Being from another country I tossed mine due to lead issues.

If you use the cleaning tool that comes with the garlic press, the metal won't scrape off. Some people use a knife to scrape off the garlic, and eventually the metal flakes off. I have been using my Pampered Chef garlic press for 17 years and it still works fine.
